Frank blags on about BBQ in the Daily Star
The Saturday August 13th edition of the Oneonta Daily Star featured an article on BBQ & grilling. Frank was one of the local Q owners (along with the owners of Andres Blue Ribbon and Brooks’s House of Bar-B-Q in Oneonta & Redneck Bar-B-Que in Cooperstown).
You can read the full feature in the Daily Star’s Lifestyle August 13th Lifestyle section or online at the Daily Star website.
Saturday 2.19.11: WHISKEY.MAPLE.LOCAL
In addition to our regular menu, we have the following specials this Saturday…
On Saturday February 19th, we’re cooking up a couple of local meat specials featuring whiskey & maple syrup. Quantities on these specials are VERY limited so we highly recommend pre-ordering as early as possible. We’ll be accepting pre-orders starting Thursday, February 17th.
Whiskey Soaked Brisket ………. $14
Local brisket from Gladstone Farm in Andes – soaked in whiskey & slow smoked using whiskey barrel wood from Tuthilltown Spirits in Gardiner, NY. Served with our limited edition Whiskey A Go Go BBQ sauce, corn muffin, choice of side & drink.
Maple Whiskey Pork Belly ………. $3
A decadent appetizer soaked in whiskey & maple syrup for 3 days & smoked to perfection over whiskey barrel wood from Tuthilltown Spirits in Gardiner, NY.
Whiskey Wood Smoked Pork Spare Ribs
We’ll also be using whiskey barrel wood to smoke our pork spare ribs on Friday & Saturday. Our usual menu pricing applies to these ribs (1/2 rack with beans or slaw $14 – full rack with beans or slaw $23).
Whiskey A Go Go BBQ sauce
We make this red sauce with a healthy dose of Jack Daniels. Simmered for an hour – then we put in the smoker for a bit. It’s a thick sweet & slightly smokey with a little JD kick at the end. We’ll have a small batch of To Go jars available at $11 each.
Maple Espresso BBQ Sauce
The legend makes a very brief return for this weekend only. French press coffee combined with maple syrup makes this one of our most requested sauces. Once you have it – you’ll be hooked. We’ll be offering side cups for those in the know & selling a small batch of To Go jars for $11 each.
So it begins again…
Construction on Cha Cha Hut 2.0 has begun! We’re hoping to begin painting around September 16th, so if you are interested in volunteering – drop us a line. Volunteers will be paid in free BBQ.
September 11: Picnic! on the road in Andes
This Saturday – September 11 – we’re taking Picnic! on the road again one last time for 2010. We’re heading back to Andes, NY for the Town Wide Yard Sale. We’ll be setting up our tent in front of Hogan’s General Store – 103 Main Street Andes, NY. We’ll be kicking things off at noon & serving until we run out of food. We’ll be there rain or shine. If it rains, you’ll find us in our soon to be new location in the back of Hogan’s.
There will be no ribs or BBQ feasts this Saturday!
As we will have no phone on Saturday, if you wish to pre-order, please call or email before 6pm on Friday September 10.
Our menu will be:
Pulled Pork sandwich
Beef Brisket sandwich
Smoked Turkey sandwich
Pig Wings (bite size pieces of porky goodness)
Smoked Mac & Cheese
BBQ Beans
Mustard Slaw
We’ll keep serving until we run out of food. We look forward to seeing everyone out for a day of fun & BBQ in Andes.
An amazing day in Andes – now with photos!
Thanks to everyone who stopped by the Picnic! on the road in Andes. You helped make t our biggest Picnic! so far & our biggest day ever. Basically sold out of everything in about 3 hours. Great to see so many folks eating BBQ in Hogan’s General Store & on the porch. We’re also discussing bringing Picnic! back to Andes on September 11 for the Andes Town Lawn Sale.
Picnic! returns to it’s usual location – 1758 County Highway 41, Roxbury – on September 21. Our full Picnic! menu plus we’re cooking 12 racks of ribs. That 4 racks more than usual! Be sure to call ahead if you want to guarantee getting food. Looking forward to seeing the BBQ faithful next weekend.
